I ENJOY the process of laundering CDs. Maybe because they're easy to fold, I don't know. Something about all the clean, white dipes waving in the wind on the clothesline makes me very happy. I was actually kinda sad when my fiance's mom took the dirty diapers and washed them for me. I wanted to wash them myself.

Am I completely off my rocker here? Or should I just embrace my inner Mrs. Cleaver?

dh's only complaint about going cloth has been that i enjoy doing the diapers so much but rarely do the rest of the laundry!

I totally agree with you!!

Here's what I was doing this morning. It was great. Fresh air, frogs croaking in the background, birds singing all around us (me and ds) and a fresh coffee while hanging laundry and ds playing in the garden. I honestly thought "it doesn't get better than this".

I love doing diaper laundry, especially when its nice enough for me to hang it outside. And then when its dry I can't wait to get it all folded and put away properly. Too bad our regular laundry doesn't excite me the same way!

Diaper laundry is the only type of laundry I love doing! So you aren't alone

Yes, I take great joy in washing the diapers, lol. I can even get really anal about the way they are hung--and the flats together, then the premiums, then the infants, then the wipes, the the fleece inserts. It increases my joy for my clotheline to be organized (nothing else in my life is organized, btw!)

I've only been cd'ing for a few weeks and I'm totally there! The only thing is, I've gotten myself into a dilemma. I got all these neat wraps for my prefolds- Well, the first couple weeks (week 1 until about 2 or 3 days ago) the wraps were too big / rise too high (covered umbilical stump) so I had to buy and use the cheap vinyl pants and pins. Well, now I love to pin! The wraps just don't keep poop in as well as pinning does. So I'm still using the 3 pairs of cheap vinyl pants I have and none of the 8 wraps . . . Plus I can hand wash / air dry the vinyl pants in no time, where as I have to machine wash (in order to get really clean) the wraps. I'm seriously considering selling them and using the money to buy other diaper goodies! But then again, they're just the dappi wraps, so I probably wouldn't get much for them. . . Decisions, decisions!

That's nice to hear. I like doing laundry already. There's something about getting clothes from dirty and smelly to clean and fresh smelling..

I guess I'll join the club too as soon as I figure how on earth to really wash my new diapers!

I loooove washing my cloth diapers, too. I normally hate folding laundry but that is my favorite part with cloth diapers...stuffing those pretty pockets and snapping the snaps...folding up the prefolds and stacking them neatly in dd's drawers..(audible sigh) That's just good stuff.

I love laundry in general. As another mom said, there's something rewarding about having clothes go from dirty to clean and i love that I provide for my family in that way.

BTW, nothing else in my house is as organized as my laundry and my kids' dressers and mine.

i LOVE washing diapers! i havent had to wash diapers in MONTHS since Addy has been potty learned. but i cant wait to wash dipes for the new one on the way.
i have already recieved a bunch of passed on diapers and covers, as well as some soakers and such and i cant wait to wash them for the first time before the baby is born.

so, laundry mavens, anyone know anything about O2 bleach? does it disinfect as well as help with stains?
i am going to wash them all a couple of times in HOT water with my Charlies (love love love that Charlies!) some GSE and TTO and do lots of HOT rinses just to be sure everything is out and they are fresh and clean, but i was wondering if i should also do an o2 bleach soak before hand IF it disinfects.

Must be fun! I do love washing, folding dipes. But if I hung them outside, they'd be stolen.

Have you tried the Snappi? We LOVE the snappi and never just lay a prefold in a wrap because the one time we did that the prefold moved and Finn had a cover stuck to his butt.

As for laundering diapers, I like all laundry but I do seem to really love my cloth diaper laundry. I think I'm just proud and amazed that we take something so gross and make it fresh and new. No one thought we'd stick to it! Ha ha.
