re:ebay

1 - when bidding on items - FIRST check the item's website to see whether you are bidding higher than you can buy it normally!

2 - don't bid on 2 of the same item (but different colors) at 2 different max prices. you may win them both!!

3 - don't be impulsive and go on a bidding frenzy just because you are dying to try wool - and fast! you may end up winning covers that are WAY too big for your ds and praying that he will someday fit into them!

4 - don't buy recycled wool covers without making sure they will fit your ds (they don't stretch!). you may end up with 2 very cute but very small appliqued covers!

re: wool covers

1 - don't wash bf poopy covers with non-poopy covers (just for the heck of it) or you will have 2 poopy covers to deal with!!!!!!!!!!

2 - if you are gonna use prefolds with a wool cover - make sure ds isn't going to poop every 2 seconds!!!!!

have any lessons you'd like to share!!!!!!!!!

:LOL I remember doing many of those things when I first got into cloth, especially washing the poopy wool with the non poopy wool. I always think, if I know now what I knew then.... but what can you do but learn and laugh a little.
Oh and a lesson to share
1. If you're going to buy a bunch of diapers at once figure out a way to explain to dh or hide them before he gets home (hard for me cause he's home when the mail comes)

I'm that way with DH, only it's for fabric to MAKE diapers with. I told him I'm done, and he asked me how many more packages he should expect. At the time it was only 1 more, and so I told him that, but now there are about 3 more on the way. He gets home before me most days, so I guess I'm just gonna' have to face it. I used to hide my fluffy mail before he got home, but then I started back to school, so I can't do that anymore. Fluffy mail is so fun!

Don't buy a million and one different kinds of fitted diapers, just to FINALLY discover the perfect dipe right before the maker decides to stop taking custom orders... (I am refering to Shannon at Harleyz Dipeez - she is making me my fitteds, but they are going to take a while
- fortunately she is opening an instock website in November! Yay!)
OK, that couldn't have been avoided. What else?

How about don't have the paypal e-mails go to the e-mail account your DH uses!!! :LOL Set up your own...

Hooooooooo.... I had to read this thread to my DH because we have had the whole "I thought you were done" scenario unfold many times!
:

I just wanted him to know he is part of a brotherhood of DHs, up to their ears in "the last diaper". :LOL

~Don't buy so many newborn diapers for a baby not yet born that you end up buying a second dresser to store them in.

~Don't stock up on new diapers for your toddler who you're pretty sure is gonna potty learn quickly. You'll end up selling them or having to buy another dresser to store them in until your next child can wear them.

~When trying to convince your dh of the value of cloth diapers always emphasize the "environmental" reasons and leave out the "cost effectiveness" reasons. That way when his birthday money goes to a lucky SOS stocking day he won't be so shocked.

~When you're sniffing your sundried clean diapers make sure you take them inside first and that all window shades are closed in the house. Neighbors can be so nosy.
