I've never posted here (I'm not a WAHM) but I thought some of you might be interested in this information. Probably most of you are already aware of this so I apologize for bugging you!
I'm a biologist, and a professor in my department inadvertantly stumbled across a problem that was important enough to be published recently in the journal
Emerging Infectious Diseases.
Apparently many hand sanitizer gels that are made using natural recipes, as well as some even available in stores, have less than 60% alcohol.
In his study, he found that anything less than 60% only serves to push bacteria around on the hands. Long story short - they identified tons of bacteria on the hands of people who didn't use 60% alcohol or more.
