This might seem kind of strange, but I'd really like to start charting -- the thing is, I have had a Mirena IUD for a year now. I want to chart because I am interested in it, and also I'd like to get the Mirena out in 6 months or so, then use FAM to avoid for 6 months, then TTC #3. I'd like to practice now, but I wonder if it will be a futile effort. I don't have much CM at all now, rarely have a cycle, etc.

I just got TCOYF and I have a thermometer, so I thought I'd just start doing it, I'm just curious if anyone has experience with this or thoughts!

TIA

I think if you want to practice taking your temp and get in the habit of checking cm and keeping a chart, then go for it. But you won't get any useful info out of it, because with the hormones in the Mirena you aren't having natural cycles and you aren't ovulating. I can tell you are excited about it so do it if you want, but it would be more for getting in the habit and novelty until the Mirena is out.

Actually I think I might be ovulating. Mirena doesn't necessarily prevent ovulation per say. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I guess charting might tell me that!

Thanks!
