imse vimse covers can i sew?

ok so i have one and i can't use it b/c the bottom of the velcro isn't sewed down, and it rubs her belly tomuch and makes it red and sort of raw. (what the heck is up with that?) i have bumby covers that also say imse vimse on them and the bottom of the velcro is sewed down.

can i sew the velcro? how woulsd i make the hole's waterproof? are all imse vimse covers like that not sewed down? why???

without a picture (i don't have a cover your describing) i don't know if while sewing it down it would creat holes that would make it wick.

you could also fry the arts and crafts forums to see if anyone would have an idea. i've only worked with PUL once before for turned and topstiched AIO's.
