I think it works well. I haven't used any other though, so I can't compare. It is unscented so if you are looking for a scented wool wash I wouldn't choose this one.

I like it! In fact, I had a little bit left in a bottle that I just used up today. I also love the Sudz n Dudz Organic Wool Wash (comes in lots of scents), but the Imse Vimse is great for the first-time lanolizing of covers, because I think it's a bit thicker and has more lanolin in it. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up">
