~I would have to say that my biggest achievement is the fact that I found the perfect man, unlike any other man I've ever even come in contact with and managed to have 'soon to be two children' when I thought that I wouldn't be able to at all.
~Hmmm, 40 years from now I will be 62. I will have grandchildren and maybe even great-grandchildren. Dh and I will own a big motorhome and we will drive around harrassing them all and taking adventures. I will have a beautiful home that I will stay in for the rest of my life.

What is your favorite type of food? Do you like to cook? What food do you remember best from childhood?
~Thanksgiving food, especially the cranberry sauce, turkey, mashed potatoes with white gravy, and the pumpkin pie
. I love to cook healthy organic food for my family, it gives me a sense of pride to see them eating healthy
. My favorite food as a child was chicken and dumplings (I still love it). I would always ask my mom to make it. One time at a church function when I was a little girl I stuffed a whole dumpling into my mouth and choked, my dad had to give me the hymlic(sp?).

Where do you live?

What about your own upbringing do you hope to emmulate for your children?
If you had enough free time to do anything, hobby, trip, school, whatever, what would you pick (it has to be JUST for you, not family, not kids, not anyone else...)?
Where do you live?
~In Paradise California. It's a smallish mountain town in Northern California. LOTS of trees, most people who don't live around here think that it's absolutely gorgeous, a lot of people retire here too.

~My mom was always involved in every activity we ever took on as a child and I want to be envolved and truly interested like she was.

~This is kind of a blanket answer, but I would spend more time crafting. Decopaging(sp?), beading, learn to sew better and maybe even start knitting. I'de love to have a booth and one of the MANY antique stores up here

My best friend from high school lives there too! On to my question...

Do you have any brothers/sisters? Are you close?

~My part of CA is a lot different then the southern CA, Big city places. Calm, not all about money and fashion, just normal. It's not that hot in our town either in the summer it's most high eighties and nineties, but shady and nice.

~We met at a party I was having at my house, with mostly a bunch of gay men, and he came with one my friends. I was standing near the kitchen and a friend of mine asked if he could draw wings on my back and I turned around and my face was literally inches away from my soon to be dh's face. We talked (he was one of the only straight men there) and even though he was totally not my type I couldn't shake that there was just something about him that I couldn't ignore. So, I borrowed his cell and put my # in it, when he asked for it I told him he already had it
.
~We have been together for almost 3 years now, married for two.
~We might be done, we might not be. We think that we want to adopt, to many babies already need homes and I know that I can love them as much as I love my own bio-children if I let myself.

((((I'm to afraid of losing my post so I'm writing my responses in segments))))

How is this pregnancy different for you? Do you have any dreams for the birth/baby/pregnancy that you didn't have before?
~Well, it's VERY different. Last time I didn't even know that I was pg until 17wks! I went in for an ultrasound of the pcos I was told I had years ago (false diagnosis, quake doc) and they showed me my beautiful baby girl! I had 23 wks to turn my apartment into a home and prepare myself for motherhood (oh yah, and we went ahead and got married at 7 months b/c we just didn't want to wait like we had planned). I had started out 35lbs heavier then I am now and had pre-e. I felt ill, swollen and in pain for most of 3rd trimester. I'm hoping that this time will be nothing like last time, I've changed my diet, I'm excersising, and hey, I actually know that I'm pg
.
~Homebirth, completely natural, waterbirth, without any complications. I want to not be scared and have others scared around me
.

~I just wanted to say thank you for this, thing are really hard right now, especially for my mom. I'm dealing ok, to be honest I've distanced myself from the start b/c I was loving her to much, more like a daughter, but that faded after staying away for a while. This is why I know that I will be able to adopt, b/c I've felt those heart strings tugged. I think this baby will bring new light and love to my family.

What is your favorite flower?
~White daisy with a yellow center, they were several of these plants in my nana's backyard where I used to play as a child. She is gone now and they remind me of her.

~I had to have my dh answer this b/c he know me better
. Creative. Nurturing. Passionate.

Do you have any brothers/sisters? Are you close?
~Six including Emma. Two bio and old like me and 4 8yrs and under adopted. We are to close for comfort sometimes!

Sara,

I don't have access to read about baby Emma, but would really like to. Would you mind sharing that here? It's OK, if you don't want to. I should have access in a few days anyway...

what is your favorite part of being a mother? least favorite part?
I had to follow the crowd and read about baby Emma. I am so sorry; you, your family, and especially baby Emma will be in my prayers.

My question: What do you look forward to the most about having a newborn again?

~Emma is my adopted brother bio sister. She was placed with my mother for adoption after her bio mother abused drugs and alcohol while pg, 'causing learning disabilities and FAS. She is being giving back to her bio mother after 10 months with us. There's more on the thread though....

What is your favorite part of being a mother? least favorite part?
~My dds hugs and kisses. My dds hitting and biting.
