We're moving back to Boston (likely Somerville/Cambridge, maybe JP) at the end of the year, and our 2 yr old ds has Down syndrome. He'll be three in January '09, and we have a beginning list of preschools we plan to apply to for fall of '09, since it seems like mid-year openings are rare. So far we're looking at Eliot-Pearson and Lesley Ellis; any other schools centrally located that are also inclusion-minded? Of course I am contacting the local Down syndrome groups too, but sometimes schools are open to this kind of diversity but don't advertise it in an "official" way. If you have any experiences with kids with special needs of any kind, I'd be interested to hear. We'll also need some childcare in January, so any related daycare recs would be great to hear too. TIA!
