I wanted to share with you my obsessively anal income tracking form

The URL below is a direct link to download it

http://www.30queries30days.com/SAMPLETRACKER.xls

The original form was from my friend Felicia (her link is on the form) and then I "lisafied it" (her words, not mine) It looks complicated but if you just read the directions on the instructions page it's easy.

All you do is enter the sites you work for and how much you make each day
enter your expenses into the proper column (that corresponds with the IRS forms)

It adds everything up for you and creates an annual profit & loss statement.

It does other stuff, too.

Enjoy

And I'm still fiddling with it- i haven't released it to the public yet. let me know if you come across anything kooky

I am a Quicken junkie but this is cool. Are you filing quarterlies? I didn't have to last year but need to this year to avoid penalties. I need to finish up my expenses then I'm done.

nope- what determines whether or not you need to file quarterlies? The only IRS quarterlies I've ever had to file were when I employed people. Not with writing. Fill me in here- I need to know!

Lisa - here's the link: http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/...110413,00.html

If you expect to owe $1,000+ on your earnings, then you should file quarterlies. If you don't, you pay a penalty. I don't know the exact amount of the penalty but it is under $100 (IIRC).

I didn't pay last year but this year with my husband's raise, my income will push us into the 28% tax bracket. So, I'm going to pay quarterlies and see how things look when we file next year.
