My almost 13-month old dd is nursing all night long--or at least it seems like it. I think she used to nurse one or two short sessions a night. Now it seems as though she would stay latched on constantly if she could. It's really turning me off of night-nursing. I don't want to stop it, just limit it.

DH has been working 12, 14 hour days, so I am exhausted and get no reprieve in the evenings. Then at night I'm sucked dry. I wake up feeling drained and dehydrated (I often feel too tired in the wee hours to even drink from the glass of water at my beside).

She's sorta, kinda interested in solids right now. Should I be feeding her more solids? Any insight or suggestions are appreciated.

TIA,
naismama

My 2 year old still night nurses 2-4 times a night - which seems like a lot based on other nursing toddlers. They grow so much at this point - it could be teething, growth or just comfort (tough work schedules, stress, conflict, mommy is just plain TIRED! haha) I think everyone I know of who has tried night weaning has decided that it was SO NOT worth the effort. The baby being miserable for longer periods wasn't worth the trade off of the possible long term "more sleep for mama" option. Good luck either way, from another sleep deprived nursing mom
: I wouldn'thave it any other way!

My almost 13 month old has been nursing non-stop at night...as in he will NOT sleep unless there is boob in his mouth
: He started this about 2 months ago, so I am chalking it up to everything, especially since we moved to as new house here in Germany. So, teething(though he never complains since we got him a teething necklace), growing, new surroundings, plus DH and I have a little tension between us soooo, that may be something as well. We try to fight when he is sleeping(outside we fight) but, I am sur he can feel if I am tense
He has virtually stopped solids, other than a few Cheerios throughout the day..
Cereal and milk I guess
) I just wanted to chime in and say I know what you are going through
s: and I am just hoping it is a small phase that will end before the year is out
