My stomach is HUGE and I'm only 10 weeks pregnant. I think it is mostly air. I'm crazy constipated and feel just awful hours after every meal... to the point where I'm just afraid to eat anything. Salad, eggs, legumes, any carbohydrate, and fruits give me lots of gas. Meat constipates me. I'm lactose intolerant. What the heck is left? Vegetable soup, nuts and seeds, and non cruciferous/non-leafy veggies for nine months? I'm worried I have candida too since I know progesterone is a more conducive environment for candida, and I definately have bloating any time I have carbs. Any ideas? Seems too restrictive to cut out all carbs when pregnant... and I don't eat white flour (we use Ezekiel bread) or sugar very often at all- but I'm getting desperate.

I found that my indigestion subsided as pregnancy progressed. You can try dill or mint. There are a lot of herbs to deal with gas but many of them are not recommended during early pregnancy.

If you are thinking you have candida, you might want to look into probiotics...acidophilus, etc. yogurts/soygurts/kefir. I think you wrote that you are lactose intolerant... I would definitely treat the candida ASAP as you do not want to have issues with this throughout your pregnancy.

I, personally, did a lot of lying on my belly. I also spent a lot of time massaging my large intestine from one end to the other in the direction that food/waste would move through my body. My partner was also kind about massaging my belly for me.
