Okay so I got a bunch of 4x6x4 infant prefolds from clothdiaper.com. I chose those bleached pfs cuz they were on sale. But I later looked elsewhere and realized that most diaper stores sell a smaller selection of prefolds and only offer the 4x8x4, both for infant and premiums.

So, will the 4x6 be absorbent enough? Or is it good that it's less bulky for the early stage? (my first two reached that 15 lb. range pretty quickly).
Or am I just splitting hairs here?

Oh never mind, I'm gonna get some more from green mountain diapers anyway. :p

I only had 4x6x4 infants, and that is all I needed. He outgrew them in the waist long before he needed more thickness. And now I use them as doublers, so I am glad they are thinner. Also, they dry a lot faster!

same here, we outgrew them before needing more absorbency. i had both on hand though and much preferred the 4x6x4 for trimness. the others look too bulky on a little one. as a matter of fact i much prefer my regular size 4x6x4 to the premium 4x8x4 also for the same reasons

Yeah my first two hit that range quickly, so maybe that will happen this time as well. I shunned prefolds before partly b/c of the bulk. So maybe I will like these then. I've already washed them a couple times and they seem so soft. Thanks!
