DD will be 3 months tomorrow(I'm hoping this is our magic number
and gets so worked up to nurse. The second I notice she is hungry(not crying yet) I try to feed her but, she refuses the breast. I try and try to get her latched but, she is so worked up all she does is scream. After a few minutes of screaming she latches on and nurses like a champ. It's like she has to have a fit before nursing, it's tiring.

Am I doing something wrong? What can I do to make this easier on both of us?

TIA!!

Does she have any food sensitivities? Do you have overactive letdown? I am wondering if she has a painful association with nursing? but is also hungry so therefore frustrated?

I haven't noticed any sensitivities with the elimination diet and I do have a strong letdown BUT she is handling the letdown really well now. It does take a minute for my milk to come in and she doesn't seem to want to wait for it

JMO here but I wouldn't worry, what can you do some babies (esp girls) are dramatic maybe you have drama queen on your hands...LOL but seriously shes gaining weight, etc so let her scream offer the breast and she'll eat...esp since its become consistant behavior..or possibly feed every hour before the need arises???
