Mei Tais don't have this issue if your baby is facing you in the front or back carry because baby is in a sitting position. For facing out, some say it is an issue but I am still able to recline my daughter back in a sitting position, its just a bit awkward because her legs are sticking out, IYKWIM
As long as baby's legs are at that 90 angle and not hanging straight down, it's good. So keep baby in the mei tai with his/her legs wrapping around you (facing in towards you is what I mean, if that didn't make sense LOL) and you know you've got a good position. Baby's weight should be on his/her bottom and not on his/her crotch, iow.
There's a link somewhere on FreeHandBaby.com to another article about the same issue.
