We're going to Thailand in 2 weeks and I need to get some mosquito repellent for my daughter, without rubbing chemicals all over her. Any suggestions?

We use Bite Blocker too. I like it, I feel pretty safe with it and while it's not 100% effective, neither is DEET (yuck!) IME.
My husband dislikes the smell of Bite Blocker because it's fairly strong and floral (I think it's the geranium? or something?) and the scent does sort of stay on you for a day or so even after you take a bath or shower. It doesn't bother me too much because I'm comfortable with the ingredients so even if it does "soak in" a little, like DH worries about, it's nothing super toxic. I'm getting more this year, even though DH complains a little that DS smells like flowers!

There's another soybean oil based one now, safbaby did a review of it here. I've never heard of it before then, and I can't find much info about it anywhere, so I'll be sticking with Bite Blocker for now, but it sounds like another similar option.

ETA - also, I tend to cover up with clothes whenever the weather permits so there's less area to spray - that is, of course, the first line of defense. :)

i have hear of people who wont use it because it has cedar in it though.
What's the worry with cedar?
We use california baby super sensitive wash in the tub... I like it although I find it a tad expensive. But it lasts a long time, so that's good.

i don't know what's wrong with cedar!

two different families we associate with wont use the CB bug spray because of it... but my DD has super sensitive skin, and it's never been a problem for her (when J&J makes her break out in hives...) so

You will get some mosquito repellents there with alethrine as the ingredient with 1.7% used. It effectively controls mosquitos and are so safe for childrens. We are using it in the new born babies rooms too. No worry.
