My 6y has recently developed insomnia. She wakes up between 12-2am just wide awake. I find her crying, hiding under the covers because she is so tired but not able to sleep.
I've tried melatonin this week because that is what I take to help with my insomnia, it didn't help. I even went up to 3mg and nothing. Simple things like camomile, calms forte, has never worked for her. She isn't going to bed any earlier, getting more then enough physical activity during the day. I'm at a loss as to what other things to try with her. Suggestions?

if you want to use a homeopathic approach, chamomile or calms forte may just not be the right remedy for her. You really need to look at her whole person and take into account all of her characteristics and choose a remedy based on that. Do you have a naturopath or access to a materia medica?

My little insomiac ended up being dx with Celiac Disease last year. She is sleeping so much better now. Maybe think about getting your dd tested. It's just a simple blood test. Something like 1 out of 130 people have Cd and most don't know it.

Interesting about the celiac disease.... I do have a couple ND's that we are patients of, I just know they will want an appointment and I'm waiting on a baby that is deciding it never wants to vacate my uterus.
