Instead of Eucalan, wouldn't a mild detergent such as baby wash plus liquid lanolin be a lower cost option?

Has anyone tried this?

And what do you do just go to any pharmacist and ask for liquid lanolin?

TIA

Lanolin comes in a paste type from.. You can get it in the baby department at most stores with the breastfeeding stuff..

I am not sure if a detergent would work the eucalan has something inside it to make the covers water resistant.

I used baby shampoo for a long time on wool covers. You don't have to use Eucalan, it just keeps the lanolin in your wool a bit longer so you don't have to lanolize as often. I don't know if adding a liquid or paste lanolin to the baby shampoo would work or not but you can always try it.
