Thought this was interesting:

"It's common for children to miss getting vaccines at the recommended time. About 28 percent of toddlers haven't been vaccinated according to U.S. guidelines, said a report issued recently by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Only 9 percent of children received all their vaccinations at the recommended times, and only half received all the recommended doses by their second birthday, according to another recent survey."

From a Washington Post article recently.

I'll bet its because many pedis gives vaxes every month, instead of at the recommended bi-monthly intervals. Like if a babe is scheduled for 6 shots at 2 months, but the pedi gives 3 shots at 2 months and 3 shots at 3 months, the babe is considered to be "behind schedule" at 2 months. Just my guess, though.

You're right, that could explain why only 9% get vaccines at the recommended times. I don't think that explains this part though:

"only half received all the recommended doses by their second [birthday]."

I wonder which of the recommended doses the other half is not receiving - is it parents who skip rotavirus but do everything else? Or are kids only getting 3 of the recommended 4 doses of certain vaccines? Or what? Either way, it's interesting that only half of kids under age 2 are not getting everything and strangly, the population continues to live on

What about flu vaccine? That probably accounts for a lot

I think it an accurate reflection of the CDC, ACIP and AAP that their schedule is the only schedule, and there is no room for deviation

I posted this a few weeks back. This surely puts a big monkey wrench in the vaccine program and all of the statistics they are attempting to keep and the herd theory the CDC is purporting to keep.

A good chunk of that is 4th DTaP. There's a big push going on right now to raise 4th DTaP compliance.
