I bought some tests both ovulation and pregnacy tests online. I haven't gotten my first PPAF but have been having fertility signs so I have been testing occasionally and haven't caught a surge and also taking a pregnancy test occasionally because we are not preventing. The last few days I noticed that the O test was increasing in color and I was hoping that it would continue to increase but it hasn't and I also decided to take a PG test. It came back with a faint grey line. I am pretty positive that it is a evap line since it is grey but It is so annoying. If I did miss a surge and may have O'd then I would be only about 10 days since last DTD. I guess I will test agian tomorrow with FMU and we will see but if there is another evap I am ditching these tests. I got a faint POS on a internet test with my 2nd at 10dpo but you could tell it was faint pink.

I had many gray lines last month with dollar store tests. I am convinced they were evap lines for me.

What color was the internet cheapie strip? I know with the purples strips, I always had evap lines, and sometimes, with the green.

However, with the blue strips, I never did. With my son, I had grey lines starting at 10dpo. I thought they were evap lines, then realized, I had NEVER had an evap line with the blue strips.

I went and bought an FRE, and it was a very light positive. The tests continued to get darker, but the internet cheapie didn't have a decent line for a long time.

Good luck!

It was a blue strip. it looked like a grey line and disappeared as it dried. I threw it away so i would stop obsessing. I will test again in a few days just to be sure but I am pretty sure it was a evap.

My test looked like the same one, it was a blue dip strip. I can't believe that one was a pink evap! that is crazy!

You're right I'm sorry. I was thinking of false positives.

Those are indeed rare and usually are a chemical pregnancy and not a false positive... though a few strips have been recalled for actual false positives.

If that was the only time you got any lines on that batch of tests, I would think it was more likely.

With my chem pg, I had very very very light grey lines, then they gradually got darker, and were similar to what you had. Then, after I had bleeding (much like af), the tests were negative.

My chart was also Triphasic that month

ICs have given me more evaps than I can count. Here are a few evap pics.

I'm waiting for a PPAF too and sometimes get darkish OPKs, but no positive yet. I don't miss AF, but I feel like it will take a long while before I drop an egg again. Patience, patience...

What are the odds of one test out of a batch giving an evap? I've taken 3 IC tests over the past few days. The first two are still showing a negative result, the one I took this morning is showing a faint line. The dye is supposed to be purple, so I can't tell if it's just a very faint purple line or if it's a grey evap line. I watched the test react, looked at it for a few seconds, felt sure it was another BFN and tossed it. This evening, I noticed it laying on the floor next to the bin and picked it up to throw it in, and noticed the faint line. So I dug the other two out of the trash (yes, I admit!) and they are still negative. So, what're the odds that this is an evap if the other two didn't give one? I thought I was done testing for now, but I guess I will need to POAS again in the morning to sort this out.

I've had evaps on just random tests. Just because you get an evap on one doesn't mean you'll get them on all the tests.

I've also been known to dive into the trash to retrieve an old peestick. LOL.

Anyway... tests vary, even tests from the same brand and in the same box/batch. Some tests may have more dye or less dye, be slightly more or less sensitive. Maybe the test you got a line on just had more dye.

Just keep testing... that's all I can say. If you are pg, you'll get some definite lines soon. If the ICs are frustrating you, try an FRER or CBE digital.

Good luck!

Thanks, Zymurgy. I still hold that your pee should just turn blue when you are pregnant. Wouldn't that just be so much easier than all this "is-that-a-blue-line-or-is-it-just-an-evap?" crap....
