Hello. I am a soon to be mommy of two, I have an almost 8 month old son. I am due in March with our second. We feel very blessed since it's taken us so long to become parents to begin with!

I am going to be cloth diapering this next child and will be transitioning Caulin into cloth too. I sorta know what I want to do for the newborn in regards to diapering. I plan on using kissaluvs. I want to put C in some CPF and a cover. I heard Bummis are good covers for mobile babies. I would like some more input.

What do you use? What have you tried and would steer away from? I plan on trying out a few things because I want to see what works best for us, but fitteds would be the best for the newborn, I'm sure. I am not too keen on the AIO's.

I am not wanting to spend an arm and a leg however, I do want to get a good product!

Can you ladies help me out? Thanks!

I woulduse bummis pull on covers b/c toddlers seem to figure out velcro fast, and you'll have a naked toddler running around in no time :LOL

I loved my cpfs with my newborn. With a snappi, they were faster to put on than fitteds with snaps, and contained bf poop just as well, if not better than fitteds.
I love me airflow covers and bummis pull on pants (no wicking or leaking at all, ever). I don't know how they'd do for a toddler though.
Have fun!

cpfs and a snappi are nice- then you can use whatever covers you like over them. I tried a lot of fitteds and liked cpfs better- but that's not true for everyone. Check out the diaper reviews (above here or on Diaper pin if you see something you want to try. You can check out the Daily Diaper above for WAHMs that sell the product you want and also Diapering Resources for basics on washing and things.

Its best to try one or two of something before you buy a bunch because veery baby is different shaped and different diapers suit different people's needs.

cpfs are the best frugal, well-fitting method, though.

HTHs and good luck!!!!!

I much prefer fiiteds for the EBF stage. I don't like poop on my covers, and I was never good at folding and snappi-ing a PF.

Wicking is when moisture seeps out of a dipe/aio and gets clothing/whatever wet. It is not a leak where pee just runs out all over. This is common when a bit of dipe sticks out of the cover and comes into contact w/clothing, and can happen if the wet dipe contacts stitching on a cover and wicks through the stitching. Since velcro is stitched on, there is more of an opportunity for wicking to occur. I think that many velcro covers have an extra flap of waterproof material to prevent wicking through the stitching, bummis sww and motherease rikkis come to mind. Wicking can also occur if there is stitchng around the leg opening in something like a FB. This cannot happen w/Happy Heinys b/c there is no stitching there.
