I have been using the inversion method for making jam instead of using a boiling water canner.

Is the inversion method safe? I haven't had problems before, but I think I am getting paranoid as I age...

Is there a water canner brand anyone would recommend (or not recommend!)??

My grandma and MIL do inversion canning and have never had problems, so I'd say if it's worked this long, keep on doing it


Also, I think any brand of water canner is the same as the next. Go find one at the thrift. There's nothing that could make one superior to another, kwim? It's just a tall pot with a lid and a metal basket.
