Irritable around O

885 Views 11 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  SereneBabe
I get really irritable around o time. Any one else have this as a symptom? I just noticed it this cycle and when I look at past charts there is a definite correlation. The irony is when I need to be BDing with DH he is driving me crazy! And it isn't just DH...I am just grumpy...it is like I have POS (Pre-Ovulation Syndrome)!

YES!

The last couple months I've wondered if I might be pg, but it turns out to be O: grumpy, sensitive nipples, bloating, etc. Like you said: not exactly conducive to successful BDing!

That is funny!! I was just thinking this last night. I am approaching my O time and I was grumpy as can be. It was even my anniversary and I was so upset with hubby that I went to bed early.

i had horrible POS this cycle!

it was also hard to tell exactly what day i ovulated (temp took a few days to rise and level off) and we had huge arguments the three nights before i think i Oed. i even sat up until 5:30 am one night because i was just too angry and b*tchy to fall asleep.
i think i kind of ruined our chances for a BFP this month since we obviously didn't get much BDing in, what with all of the arguing i had planned for us. i'm telling myself i would be relieved not to be pregnant this month, since any child conceived during that kind of hell-mood, well...i'm just wondering what kind of effect that would have!

I think my DH gets irritable because I am irritable and it is all down hill from there. This morning I had to bite my tongue to not bicker with him....it is horrible. I have started my EWCM so I wanted to BD last night and he didn't. So this morning I was still irked...and did start with him. Well, fortunately he wasn't in the mood to argue but he kindly explained he knows when I o and this would be early so he was 'saving' his sperm for when they count...how thoughtful of him (ugh). I thought I was being nice by not telling him we have to BD because I may o early...I was trying to make it more romantic and unplanned...so much for that theory. MEN - I tell ya!

Yes! We talked about this over dinner last night. Both of us were so irritated with each other, but also laughing at the fact that we know it's hormonal. BD was interesting last night since he was just getting on my nerves even during bd. We stuck through it for the baby's sake (you know, the one we're trying to make, haahahahaha).

I have to say that I don't feel so grumpy anymore.

I find this tremendously interesting. I am not TTC at the moment, but DEFINITELY have strong irritability around ovulation. Does anyone know what this is from? Any natural remedies to assist with smoothing this out? Help!

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one.

I have experienced this too! I have learned to not voice my irritation too much if I really want to BD so it doesn't turn into an argument.

I would say the hormones (estrogen surge) is responsible....I don't know what else it would be. I guess I will just have to tolerate it though because I now use it as a primary sign of approaching o. I too am glad to know I am not alone!

oh, yeah, I am WAY worse around O than even before my period arrives! didn't know this 'til I was charting years back, but, wowsa, yeah.

for me, though, I get irritability AND horniness, so, well... that can kinda work. :)
