I was at a discount store the other day and they had cases of kerry gold butter for sale at 8.8 oz tubs for $1.50 each. I got a case of 20 tubs. Is that a good price? If you could, how many cases would you buy?

Does your costco sell it labeled as Kerrygold? Or is it under kirkland name? I WISH my costco had kerrygold.....I wonder if it's with the fancy cheese? I never noticed though

That's a great price for Kerry Gold butter. My local Costco carries the cheese but not the butter. My local Whole Foods wants usually $4.99 for the 1/2 lb block and whenever it's on sale for $2.99, I buy all they have since I'm paying $10/lb from my local farmer.

Kerry Gold is a brand of grassfed Irish dairy products. Their US brand includes butter and various types of cheese, although the only one I've ever encountered is their normal Dubliner cheese.

I pay almost $3 for 1/2 lb of Kerrygold in the bricks. So I'd be buying as much as I could store at that price.

Kerrygold. BUT it only turned up in March- someone suggested it was seasonal for st. Pat's day. It is with the nice cheese, not with the rest of the butter.

I can't judge, because prices are obviously different here. One pound of the cheapest (no name) conventional grocery store butter is about $3.50. For a decent brand, it's about $4.50-$5.00. For organic/grassfed...haven't checked lately, but last time I looked, it was $7.50/lb.

I never saw it at costco either.

Whole foods had it on sale for 5 dollars for two 8 oz bricks the other day. I bought two, and wish I had bought more. I'm so hesitant to take the second one out of the freezer, because I don't want it to be gone that I'm eating conventional butter. *sighs* better check costco and discount stores for more kerrygold at good prices. *wonders if she can call costco and ask if they carry it....*

Try Trader Joes.

ETA: And Kerry Golds website has a list of stores that carry it. Although I have checked two stores in one chain and they don't have it.

Nope, I'm in VT.

I am so hesitant to buy more because the shipment the store has that is so cheap arrived because it was misprinted 09/05 instead of 05/09. But the flavor is really strong. I have never had kerry gold in the past because I couldn't afford it. Is it supposed to have a strong grassy flavor. I am just worried it really expired in '05, but the store is a very reputable one.
