I know there's a few mamas obviously gearing up now, and a few whose other babies have come early. Who else is planning on sitting here, rotund and beached and all, at Christmas, and is viewing the New Year with dismay?<br><br>
I'm due the 17th. It isn't quite as far from 2010 as I would like...my eldest went to 43+5 and DD went to 41+5.

I've been late both times. While I have this odd feeling I'll go early I'm banking on late. I so don't want to go into 2010. Sounds depressing. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

*sigh* Yeah, count me in on this group... First baby was 7 days late and the second was almost two weeks. So I am assuming that this one will be late also. I did sort of get to pick the date because I didn't know when last missed period was - only conception date (within a three day window). Dec 1-7 and I chose the 7th because I didn't want the dr freaking out when I was late with a big baby. Last two were 8.5 and 8.10 (not scary big by any means, in my book). I thought this one would be earlier because at a 28 week ultrasound I was measuring two weeks ahead - yet again a sign that those stats mean nothing. So, I will wait! I hope to have this little one anytime after Dec 1st - the full moon on the second is a fine day to go into labor me thinks and maybe I will have it on the third. If not, the waiting game continues. But god help me if I am into the second week without my new babe!!

I'm due on the 1st and have spent the whole pregnancy thinking I would go early (or maybe just hoping) and now that its a week and a half away, I'm having some serious doubts this baby will be here by her due date.<br><br>
I am just SO ready.

I'm due sometime between the 20th and 25th, and I have a feeling she's going to wait until the 25th to come. But this being my 1st, I have no idea what to expect!

Well I've got strange mixed feelings on this. I was two weeks early with DD and I've had this preterm labor scare, BUT I can still see one of two outcomes: Either he comes a few weeks early, or he comes a week late. I just can't get December 24th out of my head, for some reason. So we'll see.

I was 12 days late with my first (I was due on the 17th too flapjack, but Oct. 17th! He was born Oct. 29th) so I am kind of expecting that I'll go late again. I'm hoping that's not the case because I'm a lot more uncomfortable this time than I was last time, and I don't really feel like I could deal with almost another month of this. I'm due Dec. 1st, so this baby will be born in 2009 no matter what, but I'm hoping it is within the next 2 weeks even though the odds are probably against that.

I don't expect to go as late as Christmas because based on a very accurate due date I'm due December 6th. However, I think this one may come later than my others who came at 38 and 39 weeks respectively.

I'm expecting to go late. No real reason - I've just always assumed that I would and I continue to assume so, despite a bout of prodromal labor at 35 weeks! I have heard that the average for a first time mom is 41w1d, plus I just don't yet have that "I'm done" feeling yet. We'll see...

I'm expecting to go late, hoping to be "on-time," and wishing to be a few days early. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br><br>
there is nothing in the world worse then thinking a certain day will be it, and then watching it go by with nothing happening... so I'm keeping the expectations low...<br><br>
and then maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

I'm officially due on the 11/29, but no one in my family has EVER had a baby early, let alone a first one. This is my first one and I expect to go sometime during the second week of December.<br><br>
I have that done feeling, but it's more about being done with working... I think it's leading me toward wishful thinking on reading back ache and crampy feelings into immanent labor. I think I just want an excuse to get out of my last week of teaching and grading. The hours at my desk are KILLING me.

me!<br><br>
my son was a planed c/s due to a birth defect so they took him at 37 weeks. and at that point i had NO signs of being anywhere near labor so i expect to go like a first birth... 24 hr labor or so and about 2 weeks late.<br>
I'm <i>due</i> the 10th but i'm thinking more like x-mas eve.

My thoughts exactly.<br><br>
I'm due the 15th, and the only reason I would want him to come sooner is so that I can meet him already and know that he is healthy (I have no reason to think he isn't, just to see for myself...). I hope he isn't too late, because my mom is flying down and we hope that she will be here for the birth. Because it's so close to Christmas and I have two younger brothers still at home, she can't exactly just wait around for my little one to come!

It's hard to say. I always assume I'll go late but really have only been late with three of my kids. Two were on their due dates and three were early. Only by a few days but, at this point, I'll take it. dh is off the last two weeks in December but HAS to go back after that. I have the 20th stuck in my head. My babies tend to be big - well over 9lbs and one 10lber, so I hope this little one is early and smallish (like 8'12 or something). Anyway, I do not get my hopes up AT ALL that she will be early or even on time. Only time will tell...

I think I will. This is my first. Also, this entire pregnancy, I have been telling him "Please let me finish finals and have a couple of days to nest. Then you can come any time you want."<br><br>
Finals end the 12th, he is due the 14th.

I'm fully expecting to go late. To top it off I'm due at the very end of the month. Half of the January mamas will probably have babies before I do! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngtongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick Out Tongue"> For some reason I have the 28th stuck in my head though... and I have since the very beginning.<br><br>
I am *really* hoping to at least go before the 1st (sure would be helpful for taxes... lol!). I would be thrilled if he came early, though (just not on Christmas day), I just don't see it happening. My DS was 10 days "late" and DD came the day after she was due.

count me in here...I was 2 weeks late last time and something tells me I'm gonna be late again but hopefully not as late as last time and seeing as I'm feeling huge already at almost 35 weeks, if I go 2 weeks past I might just cry! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngtongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick Out Tongue">

I'm in the exact same boat. Due on the 10th, but expecting a late baby. DD was 10 days late and I am expecting this one to be at least 4 days late.. maybe a bit more.

At this point...I'm sure I'm going to be pregnant forever! I'm 38 1/2 weeks and I've had stop and start labor for 2 1/2 weeks now. At first we were begging him to stay in until 37-38 weeks...now NOTHING is happening! I'm terrified he's going to decide to flip breech again at the last moment like baby #3 did so I'd really love for labor to start soon while he's head down.<br><br>
Honestly I think the fact that he is stubbornly posterior at this point makes me think he will go overdue like #1 and #2. Since we had signs that he was ready to arrive, I'm obviously already feeling "done". I am actually very annoyed that I feel that way when I could have 3 1/2 weeks to go! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/irked.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="irked">
