I'm always looking for outings to go on with my LO- would it be worth it for us to drive into the city to Be By Baby? We would have to drive, I think..... public transportation would be way too tough from where I am in the western burbs.

What's the parking situation?

Is there anything there that is really unique? I have a budget of 0, so it would be just to look...

Yes! Perhaps go when there is a playgroup is happening. They do have beautiful wraps/slings, nursing bras, CDs among other nifty things for you to browse and the staff is super. There is street parking and on Lincoln Ave. it's metered.

It is nice but honestly, if I didn't live close to it id probably just skip it. Unless I was going to purchase something there or on the internet and needed to be sized or something. Im not one for "window shopping" tho

It's a nice store and if you can go when they have a class/playgroup going that would be fun - but honestly there's nothing in the store you can't get online so i wouldn't make the trip just to windowshop unless I knew there were things I wanted to touch and try in person.

I agree with the others. It's a great store, but I don't think I'd make a long trip for it unless there was something I specifically was going for. THey do have a lot of playgroups/classes, so you could go for one of those. For me, I really liked the fact that when I was just getting introduced to cloth diapering and babywearing it was a great place to go and physically see things that I couldn't really get a sense of online - I took a CDing class there that was great, and they were super helpful about slings and wraps, demonstrating how to do it, etc - stuff I couldn't have done with online shopping. I went there a lot right after DD was born, but, it's also practically within walking distance for me.

I agree. I was thankful to have a B&M store in the city when I was just so overwhelmed from trying to switch to cloth from searching on the web. Now, I only go if there is something specific I need, like replacement caps for our Sigg bottle! Oh, and I bought a mei tai there summer before last when I was in the same can't figure it out from looking on the internet situation as with the diapers.
