I thought I read on their website, or somewhere, that you shouldn't soak FB's. Suggestions?

I dunno. I don't think I would just cause the constant soaking in water could break down the pul and elastic faster. But then I've never used a wet pail for any of my diapers. It's not necessary and from what I've heard it can cause stink issues.

You really don't need to use a wet pail. Is there a reason why you want to?

I'm just trying everything....no matter what, I haven't been able to get rid of stink. I've done it all from stripping the machine (twice), boiling diapers, sunning, using less soap, using more soap. It was my hemp inserts that stank, now its my FB's (which I've never had a stink issue with before).

I would just give up on the cloth, but I'm too stubborn and determined!
Back a long time ago when I had a couple Wonderoos I wet pailed and they started leaking on me after that.. it was like the waterproofness was just gone!?
I wet pail with 1/2 cup of Borox. When you stripped did you do any hot washes with nothing added? If so how many? Is your water heater really set high or is it where it noormally is set? I always reset the temp on my heater so the water is as hot as possible for washing CD's.

Yep...stripped w/nothing added, many times. Water heater is up to 140 degrees also.
Do you have hard water? I went through all that stripping and same stuff as you and I still get stink from time to time and I know it is from the mineral deposits left by the hard water.
: Thats why I add borax to the wash.

i used a wet pal on a recent trip--it was no problem. we washed daily, though...
I would think soaking them in the pee water would make them stink more. Strip them with dawn and use a brush to scrub the fleece. Wash the inserts in a super size tub and a 1/4 cup of bleach. NOT hemp ons though!!! : ) It could be your inserts that is holding the smells. We also use Little Miracles for diapers and pails and it is a natural wash and deodorizor and we haven't had stink problems personally.

We have hard water w/ a softener. Maybe I'll try the Borax, that's the one thing I haven't attempted yet.

I read somewhere when I was researching CDing that you shouldn't soak anything with PUL or a waterproof barrier because it will break it down and cause leaks. I have hard well water and I've noticed that I have to do smaller loads of laundry (I have a FL washer too) so that I don't end up with a stink problem. I would try the Dawn trick to strip them and then use a super hot wash too and see if that helps. The one thing I do is with my covers or pocket dipes, I rinse them once I take them off my baby and then I hang them up until it's time to wash....if I put them in the pail, they seem to smell worse. I haven't tried the Borax but was interested in that since I do have hard water....is Borax damaging to your dipes? Just curious.
