I guessing this is impossible, and there is nothing the can be done without using drugs to induce ovulation (which I don't want to do).

We are TTC (actually just hoping to concieve at this point). My husband is gone all week working, and we see him from Friday night-Mon morning. I have very regular, 28-day cycles...which means I almost always ovulate and start AF on the same day of the week. Right now, I seem to be ovulating on a Tuesday/Wednesday....which makes TTC hard when my dh is gone during that time.

I really don't want to BD on Sunday, if I am not going to ovulate until Tuesday, because from past experience I am unlikely to get prengnant that way, and if I were to get pregnant, I believe the chances of m/c are higher. I read that 80% of all viable pregnancy's are concieved on either the day before or day of ovulation. That seems to hold true for me, as my two daughters were each concieved the day before ovualation, and I have had 2 miscarriages, where conception occured further away from ovulation. I would rather not get prengant at all, then get prengant and miscarry (of course there are no guarantees...but from past experience and what I have read...I would prefer to TTC by trying right around the time of ovulation.)

So, is there any way to naturally"fiddle" with ovulation..so I would start ovulating on the weekend? This is probably a dumb question..and I am sure the answer is "not without using clomid or something" which I don't want to do. But, it never hurts to ask, right? I know stress can delay ovulation..but I am certainly not going ot purposely stress myself....LOL But maybe there is something I missing....like altering light/dark cycles or something like that.

the only thing i know -- and i do not think it can really be controlled

is nurseing.

ds nureing effects O date --pushes it back when he nurses a lot.....

but that wouldn not be "controlable" that is I want to O an Sat, not Tuesday.

does DH have any days off -- a special O date off date?

can you and the kids go visit Daddy one night a month?

Sorry.

Thanks. DD2 is nursing...but it doesn't seem to affect anything.

We could go visit him..and have before. However, he works on an island (the reason why he is away at work..I can't live on the island (too isolated)). Ferry fare would be like $33 for myself and dd1 (dd2 is free) The ferry schedule is a bit weird in the winter..and going would mean that dd1 misses like 2 days of her activities. It has just never worked out, that we could go on that day...plus, O always seems to fall around the first week of the month, which is my LLL meeting (I am a leader..and leading the next series..so I need to be there).

DH is a teacher...so come summer he will be home all the time...but I would love to be prengant before then. I was actually hoping to be able to have another baby by the end of 2007..but there are only 2 cycles left to achieve that. Oh well.

Thanks for the reply.

Hi old friend!!! How are your girls doing??

I don't know for sure this would help, but maybe vitex? I know it regulates and such...and you are regular...but maybe it could kick your ovulation a little earlier? It couldn't hurt at any rate. Or what about herbs to induce AF earlier? I think I read on here once something about parsley tea or something? But maybe if you can induce an early AF you can start the next cycle sooner and theoretically O earlier.

There is a book called "lunaception"
http://www.lunaception.net/story.htm

which has to do with regulating your cycles with night lighting.

wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunaception

I am sure you can find more info by googling a bit.

If it were me I'd try the visit mid-week thing, it is a hassle but if your body is working well you might want to leave it in balance as it is.

even as much trouble as it would be

[Hi old friend!!! How are your girls doing??
/QUOTE]

. THey are doing well...they get along great and are the best of friends. I have seen lots of our old DDC buddies either pop up prengant or TTC again. Must be that time, not that our babies are older, eveyrone is getting baby fever...

What is vitex? Is that chasteberry..or an herb like that. I might try that. I don't really want to try inducing AF, since I would be too paranoid that if I were prengant, I would cause a m/c....something I would never want to do.

oceanmommy...thanks for the lunaception book. I might look into that.

I know the mid-week visits are probably best...and hopefully things will work out so we can do that. It will be easier in the spring...as the ferry runs infrequently in the winter...more frequently in the spring..so that owuld make things easier to schedule.

That's great. I love seeing mine play together (though fairly often there is more fighting than playing with a brother around). Vitex is an herb as well, they should have it at your local hfs.

yes you can alter O date (I have... 2 methods follow) by altering AF date, BUT you have a nearly perfect cycle (if such exists) and altering it can permanently effect fertility-- are you willing to take that chance?

method 1, my fav:
buy some natural progesterone cream, use max dose 2x daily from cd 15 and stop 3 days before you want AF to visit (I assume stop on Wednesday for AF Saturday, and O two weeks later-- Adjust for your normal timing between af and O). This is my fav bc progesterone cream (not synthetic progestins!) not only will not harm an early pregnancy, but can actually help you maintain one. WARNING: DO NOT stop the cream if pg, continue for at least 3-4 months. A sharp drop in progeseterone can can uterine shed/ early mc. (see infertility workshop.com for more info on this method)

method 2, more risk:
Order some warm cycle tea pills ( I like ancientway.com). Use according to package directions-- effective at very low dose. It brings on af early. I use 2-3 pills (tiny) 2x daily (max dose is 8 pills 3x daily) for 2-3 days and af comes immediatley. Again, this is to speed it ahead a little, and o will follow, usually sped up a llittle, too in my experience. Warm cycle teapills WILL cause an early mc if you take them not knowing you are pg! so please get a beta (blood pg test at a lab) before taking this supplement if you even MIGHT be pg-- poas tests are not accurate/ sensitive enough that I would risk a mc-- I'd get the beta. Ask a professional accupuncturist or TCM practitioner for more info on this.

So please be careful and ask a naturopath or md before you begin.

Good luck and prayers for your #3 efforts!
