I'm nursing my 9 month old, but I'm having what seems to be ewcm every few weeks or so....is this a sign I am ovulating without having ppaf yet? I dont normally ovulate on my own anyways with out the help of clomid but this sure seems like cm to me.....
Any idea as to whats going on? Can you o every few weeks without having a period?
I think those patches are signs that your body is gearing up to ovulate. Getting the hormones going, doing system-checks, and so on.

I've heard that pregnancy can sort of jumpstart you; maybe you won't need the clomid in the future? That would be cool!

Anyway, any of those gear-ups could actually BE ovulation, and if you ovulate before your first pp period, you could get pregnant. So if that's not what you want, be careful!

I would also guess that those are your body cycling up to ovulate, but not quite making it. Of course, any single one COULD actually be you ovulating but then you would have your period within the next couple weeks.

you know, as a consequence of my endometriosis i went without any periods for about 8 months... and my doctor said, "this is an indication that you are no longer ovulating..."

and lo! there came my daughter. so it is definitely possible to ovulate w/o having periods.

it has now been over 3 years since i had any kind of a period, and i'm on birth control -- i don't believe that periods are a reliable indicator of ovulation.

cervical mucous is IMO far more reliable.

It is possible to ovulate before you get your PPAF, but only once. If you ovulate and don't get pregnant, you will get AF. So, it sounds like you're not yet ovulating, but your hormones are starting to come back. The exact same thing happened to me (EWCM every few weeks for a few days), and lasted about 3 months before AF finally arrived (3 months after I nightweaned my twins. . . they were 21 months old when she finally showed up).

I took clomid to conceive my boys, but after they were born I started ovulating on my own. My hormone levels were still a little less than ideal when we started ttc, so I did lots and lots of acupuncture, and just got pregnant on our third attempt. It feels so good to be pregnant without clomid!! I hope the same thing happens for you.
