A friend of mine is getting a tooth filled on her two and a half year old, and her dentist is using a laser. He told her it is completely painless, they just shine a red light on the tooth. If this is true, why don't all dentists use this? I did a search on Google, and could only find positive things. Now I am tempted to switch dentists.Any opinions?<br>

according to my dentist/sister the laser can cause micro fractures in the tooth. She thinks in theory they are a good idea, but the bugs need to be worked out and she would wait for a more reliable one to be out in the market for yrs before she would use it.
