is microfleece a good choice for summer?

i am working on making ds some microfleece pockets but find myself wondering-are these really suitable for summer? especially if they are goingto be stuffed with prefolds or hemp or what ever else? it won't be too hot? i never thought this with FB because they are pretty thin fleece inners but the ones i made look thicker. i heard that FB now has a thicker fleece, so maybe they will end up being as thick as the ones i made? i just don't want ds sweating his butt off and being overly heated in the diaper area. what diapers are the best and coolest during the summer? what about hempfleece and wool combos? i just need them to be trim also, so if somehow we can have trimmnes with wool and hemp, then i'll consider it. i will have worked my butt off on these pockets for nothing though, becuase they will probably not fit him come this fall or summer. i'm in los angeles where it gets into the 100's during the summer. thanks for any input!

I know I've read other threads on here that say Fuzzi Bunz are too hot, but we live in Texas, and have had no trouble with them. I would say that the fleece is fairly thick on current FBs (I bought all mine last month).

Happy sewing!

i have used FB (cd in general) for a fairly short about of time now, so take this for what it's worth: i, personally, find that she sweats in them and i feel like she is too hot. however, she doesn't seem to notice - never gets fussy or seems to be uncomfortable, so i don't know.

i guess i wasn't much help huh?? :LOL

I live in South Texas, where the face of the ol' Sun resides, and my kids have always used pul, fleece, wool, whatever. My kids never seem bothered by it. Albeit, we weren't like parading around during one of our 100-plus degree days ya know?
But, it sure beats having a sposie sticking to them---ICK!! I like aio's with a nice micro topped insert myself. Last year though, we went with all Knickernappies, Beccabottoms, and Green Acre pockets and had no problems. Hope you find something that works mama
