I've been wondering this for the longest time, it just occurred to me to ask here, haha.

I have convertible seat that we aren't using anymore because the straps were difficult to adjust, we just bought a new one. Well, the styrofoam underneath the cover is cracked. All the pieces are there, there is nothing missing and it doesn't move at all, but the pieces come apart if you take the cover off. Is it still safe to use at all, or is it junk?

I don't know the stance every carseat manufacturer, but I know that Britax says it's OK if the EPS foam is cracked, as long as no big chunks are missing. They also sell replacement foam to replace it if it becomes too damaged.
