I've read that for adults you can test yourself to see if you are allergic to a food by taking your pulse before eating the food and then again 15-20 minutes after eating the food, and if your pulse rate goes up by at least 10 beats per minute after eating the food, it's a sign of that you're allergic to it. Does anyone know if this is accurate or not?

It is, but only if the food is consumed on an empty stomach, and alone. So, you can't test an egg allergy and get accurate results by eating an egg sandwich, or a tomato allergy by eating ketchup (not that anyone sits around eating ketchup!)
