In dh's parent/ child class there was a plain curved wooden board, that was used as a bridge one way, a slide, turned upside to rock etc. Is there a name for "the curved wooden board". I feel a bit silly explaining to non waldorf people what it is?
Anyone

It is not the rocking boat that I'm talking about. That I knew what to call

WHat I am talking about is much simpler, IT is only one piece of wood (no seat, no rail to hold onto etc) It is only a piece of wood about 3 feet in legth, maybe 20-24 inched wide and it is curved. That's it. It is literally a curved piece of wood, but I wondered if there was actually a "name" for it in the waldorf world.

I guess a picture would help, but i haven't found one yet

I know what you are talking about! (I want one too) I have always heard them called "rocker boards", but have had a hard time finding them online. I once asked a Waldorf teacher where she got them and she mentioned Sunbridge. Don't know if that's anywhere in your area, or if you can call their shop to see if they have one and will ship.

thank you! I actually do have one, i just never knew what to call it, the curved board. Rocker board, so simple, better name for it. I bought it at our local waldorf school. They don't have them all the time. I'm not even sure who made them for the store. It was more expensive than I thought it would be but it is a beautifully simply plaything.

It's called a rocking board and according to our kindergarten teacher, you can get them through Hand and Hoe -- Tel: (845) 356-8494 -- open only on Friday afternoons (Eastern time). I don't know if they ship them though and they may be available other places, too...good luck!
