My baby wants to suck all of the time. I can't nurse her constantly because it it taking me away from things that I need to do with my other kids.

Does anyone know of a wide mouth pacifier? I feel like the ones that I have tried with her make it hard for her to remember to open her mouth wide enough to get back on my nipple for nursing after she's been sucking on a bink.

Any ideas?

TIA.

What you're describing sounds like nipple confusion, which is why pacis aren't recommended for babies under six weeks. How old is your baby? She may be going through a growth spurt which, while inconvenient, is really necessary for her development.

Have you thought of a sling?
That way your lo can nurse and you can still be arms/hands free!
I would highly recommend a pouch and/or ring sling!

I've tried both of my ellaroo ring sling and my hotsling and I find them both uncomfortable. I liked them when my DD2 was about a year old until she was 3. I can't seem to nurse comfortably in these slings. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

Georgia is 3 weeks old and I guess this is some kind of nipple confusion. I was really hoping there was a widemouth bink out there somewhere but I've searched all over the internet and there doesn't seem to be such a thing. The constant need to suck isn't working for me. I can't get anything done around the house, or with the older kids, or even get them to school and from with this sucker. She does like being in the sling better than not, but that doesn't work for going out of the house (like in the car).

Gosh, I don't remember this being a problem with my older kids. Hopefully this passes soon!

It can be really hard when you have a houseful. I just had my fourth, and yours are younger and more closely spaced than mine. Aside from the sling, is there any chance of you getting a little help? Maybe even just when it's time to get the kids to school and back home again? And you *just* had a baby--give yourself a break on the housework!
