DS was once a very fussy baby but these days he's been so happy
. But he doesn't like to sleep. I know he's sleepy at points during the day b/c his eyes are all sleepy, he won't nurse and he's cranky. He used to fall asleep nursing but that is now a rarity. The only way to put him to sleep is to rock him REALLY hard with the exhaust fan going in the kitchen. DH does this when he's home cause I've been feeling really dizzy/weak (trying to eat better to see if that helps) lately so I really can't handle doing it. But when he's alone I have to rock him. Anyone have some good ways they put their babies to sleep that aren't so physically exhausting?

I feel your pain.

Lately I can sometimes nurse ds (3 months) to sleep in our bed, or sometimes when in an armchair, to transfer him to bed, but usually I have to sling him. We use the kangaroo korner fleece pouch, and his favourite position is the cradle hold. It takes a bit of work - a bouncy, heavy walk, some singing or vocal toning, he particularly likes it when I go down the stairs. Ah, yes, the kitchen fan helps!
I used to rock him in my arms in a blanket, but man, that was waaaaay too tiring, and it took far longer. Unless he's not really tired, the sling method takes under 2 minutes, with continued movement/walking/bouncing on balance ball for about 15 minutes until he falls into a deep sleep.

He actually does fall asleep in a sling but he has such light sleep that he has to stay that way - I can't take the sling off.. most of the time that's ok but sometimes I just need a break. The car is the same thing - once it stops he's awake. It's good to know though that DS isn't the only one who needs to be rocked so vigourously!
