I have had an overactive letdown and plenty of milk all along for my 12 week old. I also had an oversupply with ds #2. We never had a shortage.
I kept waking up during the night last night to ds stirring next to me every couple of hours but he didn't seem to want to nurse much so I let him sleep mostly. I picked him up one or 2 of those times and tried to nurse but he just was asleep. Fantastic I thought until I realized that my breasts were like deflated balloons. It was weird. I got out the pump at 4:30am and started pumping away and there was only a drop or 2. I have pumped a little bit before and I it comes spraying out. Not this time.
Also, I haven't felt a really good letdown since last night as well.
Ds has made plenty of wet cloth diapers today...not soaking wet, but wet.
He had a decent poop.
I have been nursing him all day long pretty much. Not alot of swallowing going on but there is some.

I know what to do to help remedy this pretty much. I also know that at some point my breasts just aren't as full.

What I want to know is if I should be really worried?
Can we recover from this?
How long should it take to get things "flowing" again?

Thanks for any info,
I'm sorry I don't know the answers to your questions. I've always had low supply. But, I do know that horrible where did my milk go feeling. So I wanted to give you a hug and say that mother's milk tea by traditional medicinals works for me if you do need to boost your supply.

12 weeks is when your milk supply will start to regulate more and your breasts won't feel as full and they won't leak as much. This happened to me too and I totally freaked out!! But it's normal. As long as the pooping and peeing is happening, I wouldn't worry.

Maybe someone else can supply a link to kellymom or something, I can't find one right now...
