Hi Ladies<br><br>
I had a miscarriage at 8.5 weeks in mid-April. From start to finish I bled for two weeks (including initial spotting), had a full week without bleeding, but started bleeding lightly again last week. I'm on day 5 of bleeding....is this AF? Should I be concerned? We were going to wait one cycle before trying again, but this one is so weird that maybe we should wait for two as my OB recommended? Thanks for your help.<br><br>

I'm sorry for your loss, mama.<br>
I think it's unlikely to be your period. I might give your doctor or midwife a call - they may suspect what they so tactfully called "retained products of conception."<br>
When did you get a negative HPT? Have you had an u/s to make sure your uterus is empty?<br>
With my first MC at 9w4d, I got my period a month after getting a negative HPT a few days after the miscarriage was complete. We tried again that month but didn't get another BFP - my healthy son! - until the next cycle.<br>
Good luck. I hope your body gets back on track soon.

Thanks Megan<br><br>
I haven't taken another pregnancy test....mostly because I couldn't bear seeing a positive result when I knew that was no longer pregnant. Now that we're thinking about trying again and I need to figure out what the heck is going on with my body, I'll pick some up. I was really hoping to not need any pregnancy tests for at least a year. Sigh. I'll give my OB a call too....the bleeding seemed to have stopped yesterday, but no. Sigh again.

Hang in there, mama. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hug"><br>
I understand. I'm three weeks out from my MC but had waited more than three weeks for it to happen. The waiting and wishing it would just be OVER is almost the hardest part.
