DS is almost 16 months and all of a sudden REALLY whiny and needy with me (usually only with me). He is usually a very happy, independent boy. But in the past few days he wants to nurse just about every half hour. It's possible he has a tooth bothering him. He's been a realy slow teether and there's probably always a tooth working its way out. But he's never struggled like this with his teeth before. What's going on? Does it sound like an increase in separation anxiety?

At that age, Liam was cutting his molars which took forever to come in. And yes, he got whiny and clingy as well. We had about 4 months of it in total because he was a late/long teether all around.

Sounds normal to me. Cold or frozen snacks seemed to help. Like frozen blueberries, bananas, peas to chew on.

Hang in there.. this too shall pass.

could be teething, yes, but it really could be separation anxiety too...which is totally normal at his age. Rowan's going through it right now and it's no fun. I hope things get better for you soon!

DD (almost 17 months old) is going through the exact same thing. For about 2 weeks now she's been SUPER clingy (only mama will do!) and whiny, and she used to be so independent before that. I'm thinking it's her teeth, too. She's just cutting her eighth one now. I'm curious, you others who say you have slow/late/long teethers, what do you mean?
