I am expecting our new baby boy at the begining of December, and I am trying to finish out his stash. The thing is I have never CD'd a nb and don't know how many dipes I will need. Here is what I have so far

Covers
1 Poochies Wool Wrap
1 Nikky Wool wrap
2 prowraps2 bummis
1 cotton wrap
1 reusabums soaker
1 Grateful buns soaker
2 felted aristocrats
1 pair GMWW longies
1 Pair babyology longies
1 pair longies (made by an MDC mama)

Fitteds
5 unknown wahm fitteds
1 sellin threads nb/sm
2 snap dragons nbs
1 diaper babies nb
4 nanipoo's nb
3 unknown nb/sm
1 FMBG sm
2 dozen prefolds

AIO's
6 Bumware nb (these are supposed to fit to 12lbs)
2 WAHM fleece AIO's
1 Beccabottoms pocket
1 LL AIO

I also have quite a few infant sized bumware that should fit starting at 10lbs.

I would like to use mostly fitteds and wool, and aio's for going out. The prefolds were given to me by a friend and I mean to use them folded into the wraps more as back up than a system. So do I have enough diapers for this to work? Do I need to get more fitteds? I plan on using all AIO's after the nb/sm size so I have been stocking up on those.

Well, a good rule of thumb for newborns is 36 diapers. I think if you just want the prefolds as backup you'd need a few more fitteds.

Looks like a nice stash I agree though that if you're not planning on using prefolds daily then you need some more fitted or aio's. You could always get a few more small pockets too. I think you will have plenty of covers.

What they said. Plenty of covers, but I'd get about 6 more fitteds since I detest using prefolds, esp. on newborns With DS we only had 12 kissaluvs 0s and I washed them twice a day since I didn't want to waste money on more NB fitteds and hated all the CPFs I had. Yeah, I was a freak. They never sat long enough to stain though! :LOL

For this one I've got 3 dozen fitteds

I think that looks great! I had about 20 or so diapers for the newborn stage and that was fine for me. I bought a bunch of CPF's as backups since I had heard you need 36 diapers, but I never needed to use them. I washed every other day.

If it was me, I'd get more wraps . Those runny NB poos happen often, and sometimes leak on covers. The nylon type wraps were great for us (especially bummi SWW velcro), especially if your wool gets dirty.
