My daughter is 7mths old. Since starting a few solids...once a day at most and not a lot she has started pooping once a day and a lot of it. Well, on Sunday it had been since Friday evening that she hasn't. Well, at the inlaws I got the idea to put her on the potty to see. She is cloth diapered and I knew she wasn't constipated. Well, she had her bm on the potty!!! She has pooped a little in her diaper since then but this morning I tried again and she pooped and peed!! Is this a fluke? Is she trying to tell me something? Or am I just wasting my time. Wasn't even thinking about EC before this.

i think you have a promising start! when i first started reading this forum 3 weeks ago i put my ds (also 7 mo but no solids yet) on the toilet first thing in the morning and he peed. since then he has pooped and peed every morning, and some days i catch 50% of everything! he never used to poop first thing, so i know he is trying then because he knows he won't have to go in his diaper then. smart boy
good luck!!

I checked her dipe and I thought it was wet but I took it off and it was dry, she was whining before and that is why I thought she was wet. Well, I took her from the bedroom to the bathroom bare and she peed in the potty!!!!! She played for a sec then I asked her if she needed to poop and then she did. She played a sec mre while other dd was running in and out. I asked again and she did! This is sooooo new and different for me.

Way to go! Now just keep following her cues and you'll be on the way.

And the most important thing: don't get uptight about it or expect too much. You already know about conventional potty training, so even if you don't catch all the pees and poops, or even if DD doesn't take responsibility for the potty herself any earlier than her sister did, you'll still be ahead of the game. Think of all the yucky diapers DD won't have to sit in when you work together on it.
