hi i am 5 weeks and sorta hoping that what i'm feeling is m/s... but i was under the impression m/s was nausea and throwing up. i'm not having that at all. so, i wish someone can tell me they've had this symptom.

basically, whether or not i eat my stomach feels empty. i am not hungry, it just feels full of nothing...maybe full of air.. I have had some gassiness tho. i mean i feel the same 'emptiness' whether or not i just ate. not sure if that makes sense.

i also get so tired that i feel like i just ran a marathon or took a sleeping pil... i feel kinda drugged up? it almost feel the way you do right before you get hit with a terrible flu... is any of this normal?

1) I didn't have ANY m/s in terms of nausea/vomiting. A bit of queasiness if I hadn't eaten all day, but that was it, and easily solved by munching some crackers or a grilled cheese sandwich. It's generally hereditary, I think... if your mom didn't have m/s, chances are you won't, either (and everyone will be jealous
).

2) Bloating and gassiness are so common during pregnancy, you'll eventually forget what it's like to NOT be bloated and gassy. If it seems like bloat/gas, that's totally normal.

3) The drugged up / fatigue could very well be just the first trimester. I remember for the first three months all I wanted to do was sleep, sleep, and sleep, with a nap in between. I would get a full night's rest, then by 11 am I was ready to crash on the sofa. As contradictory as it sounds, the more exercise you get, the less fatigued you'll be.

I wouldn't be alarmed by any of this, but if it's bothering you, mention it to your OB/MW at your first appointment-- likely they'll reassure you.

Sounds to me like you are 5 weeks pregnant
. That's what you feel like.

I joke and say I felt like I had a cheap wine hangover for about 5 weeks, because that's what it felt like.

Fatigue is extremely common in the first tri, I almost didn't want to get pg again because I have a demanding toddler and I knew that the fatigue is completely and utterly crushing. Also MANY women don't get nausea right away, or at all, some get it at 8 weeks. Some women like me don't get it with one pregnancy and do with another(like this time). I never had real puking sickness with DD, I felt like I could I just never did. This time I went through a few weeks of hell. I got it the day I got my BFP and it lingered for about 6 weeks. There's times where I still feel pukey and I am 15 weeks. It really just varies so much from woman to woman.

It sounds totally normal to me.

That's just the baby getting tucked in there really good wearing you out.

Morning sickness if you have it will kick in within the next few weeks, and you'll know it if you have it. Hopefully it skips you--I'm sitting here at 34 weeks still nauseous.

There are lots of symptoms pregnant women can experience. They aren't always the same. You sound very normal to me. If you have questions you could always call your OB and ask them just to ease your feelings. I always got morning sickness with my pregnancies beginning around the 6th week so maybe the morning sickness is working on ya (hope not though).
