Hi ladies. Here's an update on me while we all wait for an update on fey. So my cntx haven't let up since 5am yesterday morning. They weren't strong yesterday but they're definitely stronger today. Probably around 5 mins apart (though my geek of a DH is currently writing a computer program to figure out exactly what's going on with the cntx :LOL ). Still having bloody show.

Is it normal for things to progress this slowly? I'm not in much discomfort but I don't know if I can take days or weeks of this. Sigh!

It is normal. Baby may be in a poor position and not putting adequate pressure on your cervix. Try doing some hands and knees or lean over a birth ball and rock. Or sit on a birth ball and move your hips in really wide circles.
Otherwise, eat what you feel like, drink lots of fluids and rest if you can. Not easy, I know.

Thanks. I sat on the birth ball while eating lunch and did some side to side motions. Actually, that seemed to make the cntx easier to deal with. DH and I are going to go for a walk down to the grocery store and get some good labouring foods. I really don't feel like going out, but we have no fresh veggies (used them all yesterday cooking for the freezer) and I'm really craving them. The walk might do me some good.

Our little baby girl was born at 11:29pm after only 15 minutes of pushing! No tears, only a minor abraision that didn't need stitches. It was an incredible experience. The water was great. I'll post a more detailed birth story later, but there is a pic of her on my blog. Right now I've got to finish my sandwich (I'm starving!) and try and get some sleep! Oh, and she's teaching me how to nurse!

Also, I love it that this thread was started with such a simple statement "is this normal?" Yes, I think so..... mcs

Congrats to you and your family!!! Isn't it amazing how they know what to do when they come out? And if you back it up a bit, they also know HOW to come out lol! They're brilliant from the start.
Enjoy that gorgeous baby!
