My daughter is 7 weeks old and is being strictly breastfed, I have never given her a bottle or a pacifier. We have been through a month long fight with thrush and also a horrible 3 days with mastitis. Up untill a few days ago she was eating every 3 hours. Now she is sleeping for 6 hour stretches at night and waking up a 6 only to eat off of one breast and go back to sleep for another 4 hours. During the afternoon she is still eating every three hours but about six o'clock at night she wants to nurse almost every hour untill she falls asleep around midnight. Im afraid my supply is going down because shes not eating as much at night. Should a 7 week old be sleeping that long or should I be waking her? Ive been through so much already I would be devastated if my milk dries up and I couldnt breastfeed anymore Ive really started to enjoy being the only one who can feed my baby.

It sounds really normal to me. I would say as long as when you look to the baby, she's happy and healthy---not to sweat the timing of the nursing sessions. Sounds like she's eating when she's hungry and sleeping when she's tired---perfect
If you're concerned about input---check output. Is she having plenty of wet diapers? As long as you're nursing by cue, I would doubt you'd ever lose your milk!!! She's making up for not nursing at night by nursing in a cluster before she goes to bed. Sounds like you're doing a great job meeting her needs---and I agree it's wonderful to be the only one who can feed her
PS: Unless you *really* want to
, you don't have to wake her up!
