NOt sure where this goes, but I thought a breastfeeding forum would be appropriate. My ds will be 6 months on the 15. He used ti sleep a lot at night, so therefore not a lot of nursing, but for the past 2 months he's been back to every three hours. He doen't get any formula and didn't start any solids until last night. Well, I just got my period. Is this normal? I knew I could get it while breastfeeding, but I didn't know I could get it while nursing this frequently. Is this normal?

Unfortunately for you, totally normal

Some people get AF back at 6 weeks pp, I'm just over 2 years at this point (with #2, #1 was 11 months). Its just your body. Expect oddness for a while though, and *some* people even stop again if baby picks up heavily.

I know how you feel. I was really surprised when I got my first post-partum period when DD was 5 1/2 months and exclusively breastfeeding.

I picked up right where I left off, like clockwork.

Veronica slept for 7-10 hour stretches after 6 weeks or so until about 6-7 months old..then she woke every few hours again to nurse. it figures that I got my period back when she turned 8 months. why didnt it come back when she was younger and I didnt nurse for those long stretches, I still nurse her around the clock every few hours, and she will be a year in a week, and its pretty regular (my period)

Fertile Myrtle definitly describes me. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised that it came back. I ovulated in July and August, but since ds started nursing more again I skipped September. I guess I hope it returns to normal, that way I'll know what to expect. Instead of being irregular. Thanks for the info!
