Well, it does kind of matter. Ice skates have a toe pic, which, in some ways makes it harder to learn, (they catch the toe pic on the ice and fall) but in other ways, it's easier (to stop/start movement) Are you looking for something super cheap or something with quality? I have a pair of size 11 figure skates (white) but they are unique in that they have a double blade. So it is easier to learn as it's wider than a single blade. These are *very* hard to find anymore. I also have two pair of GOOD hockey skates (my ds has been playing hockey for 4 yrs now) so these are quality hockey skates. The figure skates I could let you have for pretty cheap, say $10 +shipping, but the hockey skates are *much* more expensive. If you're interested, pm and I can take pics, etc.
