My mom (a computerphobe) needs a fabric that is very, very thin -need not be really strong- and extremely light weight. Could everyone here spam me with ideas please. I know places online and irl where I can buy, I just need everyones personal experiences. For me touching the fabric is totally different from seeing a picture of it online. Thanks

Right before I got pregnant, I made myself a sexy little eyelet sundress, lined with cotton batiste (or was it cotton lawn?) - then immediately gained 10 pounds in the first couple of months and couldn't squeeze myself into the dress...
But I digress...

I loved the batiste (or lawn) for an underlining. Sooo soft, rather sheer and very lightweight. Much easier to work with IMO than those poly, satiny fabrics...

Craftymomma, it is to cover a large dog, she is making a shirt of sorts. Cancer taken outleaving large open area on dog, we need something lightweight, thin, breathable, so that the pup won't be able to chew at himself. The elizabethan collar is a no-go for this situation. She will be fitting it similar to a tank top shirt, but more fitted so that the dog can go bathroom and move, just not chew at the 'owie'

I was thinking along those lines too, yllek. To use a super flimsy fabric like rayon consistency and line it with something. Heck, couldn't she even use super thin muslin? That shouldn't stick to the poor puppers wound at all but wouldn't cost an arm and a leg and should hold up fine. Unless the dog like scratches it alot, then it could snag it. I'll keep thinking
