This week has been a very big week for us and I just wanted to share. DD1 had always been challenging for sleep. She would only sleep on me until she was 2y, nursed to sleep every single time until she was 3y, she was a VERY frequent night waker, she started sleeping through the night when she was 3y. When DD2 was born, DD1 was 3y and 10m, DD2 was on O2 for 6 months so DH and DD1 had to move to another mattress in the bedroom and eventually to another room. This spring when she was 4y, she decided she wanted her own mattress right next to DH's, he still had to hold her hand until she went to sleep.

Well, DD1 is 4y and 11m old now, and she decided she wanted her own room, we got her bed set up this week. She not only has slept in it every single night with no issues, but has put herself to bed every night. : It is so weird to tuck her into bed, say good night and walk out the door. Now I just have DD2 that only sleeps on me, takes forever to get to sleep, and keeps me up all night.

Wow. I think you did a great job with the nighttime situation! Currently the baby and I have the king bed to ourselves while dh sleeps on a matress on the floor in dd's room (she's 3) with our middle boy (5) on another matress next to him. Only our oldest (7 yrs) sleeps in his own bed/room every night.
