We had the ultrasound today. I am 18 weeks exactly but I was really worried because I am taking a "D" medication which my midwife and former OB weren't worried about at all but the doctor who prescribes it was. And of course there's all this scary stuff about it on the internet. (I wasn't taking it with my first two.) So I scheduled the ultrasound for 18 weeks on the nose and got a referral to have it done at the doctor they refer to for genetic counseling and the like.
Well, everything is normal, thank goodness.
I was so worried that baby wouldn't cooperate for us to find out the sex. We wanted to know with our second one. The tech saw in passing that it was a boy, but never got a shot where she could show us it was a boy, and it wasn't that she didn't try. Since this is our last, I was really hoping for a girl since we already have two boys, but DH and I had resigned ourselves to having a third boy.
But this baby was head down and we got a perfect view between the legs. Very clearly a little girl. I am so excited...kind of in shock even. Now I need to figure out what to do with all my boy clothes and come up with a wardrobe for a little girl (not a problem I mind having, needless to say).
So here's to the rest of the mom's in our ddc - that you will have your ultrasound soon and that all will go well! (Last time I was due at the end of the month and I got so tired of hearing everyone's news before I got mine!)
