I have posted here once a while back concerning my daughter (i believe back before her 1st birthday)

Well alot has changed since then...

They finally diagnosed her with asthma (shes 18 months) and she is sleeping so much better now that she can breath at night..

shes a few bouts with pnumonia.. and they said she has severe ear infections.. they gave her antibiotics once of the strongest outside of IV antibiotics and it cleared up her double lung pnuemonia but it didnt even effect the ear infection.. she has had so many we has lost cont.. some they think are ear infections that never cleared..

so on the 4th of this month she goes to the ENT and int he middle of the month they want some test ran at her check up for the fact they are pretty sure she has a immune disorder and they want to know what one she could have because of all her symptoms.. and end of the month she goes to an audoligist and depending how that gopes they want to put her in speech therapy

it took a brand new peditrician who in her dr office who saw her.. and instead of looing at everything sepretly.. she looked at everything as a whole.. she is in seeing one doctor or another about every 2 weeks for the past 3 months.. it took us throwing a fit in the dr office getting a case manager involved and everything for them to take us seriously..

so hopefully Kaylee will have some diagnoses that will help her..

Man, it's ridiculous sometimes, the hoops Mamas have to jump through to get real help! It sounds like you finally have some helpful professionals involved, and I hope they are able to figure things out for you!

Just so you know, if you are in the US, you can call your local Early Intervention (it may go by a different name) which works with children under 3 yrs, and ask them to assess your daughter. Even if the audiologist doesn't turn up with anything, they can work with her if she has a speech delay. At least in my state you don't have to wait for the dr. to okay the call, you can self refer.

I'm glad to hear the asthma is better with the right treatment! I hate breathing issues!

I'm glad Kaylee is sleeping (and breathing) better and that you're finally getting people to take her issues seriously. It's so wrong you had to fight to get them to listen but I'm glad you did it.

has she got ear tubes? if not, then get them they are far better then doing the abx all the time. Sometimes there are structural problems that block the eustation tubes and the best solution is ear tubes. My dd had hers done at 18m and she has been pretty good since then.

thats one of the main things of her going to the ENT..

she was an early talker.. and she was very clear on certian words.. but over the last 3 or 4 months her tones had changed.. from a hi pitch hi to huh

and certian noises ones that wouldnt bother a normal person.. she grabs at her head and ears in pain and freaks out..

im hoping all is good news.. today she has a follow up.. her ped wants to see her before she goes to the ENT next week..

im seriously hoping for something to help my little girl..

Good luck to you in finding answers! As far as the abx clearing up the pneumonia and not the ear infections. That's not unusual as there are certain bacteria that are more likely to cause ear infections and other bacteria that tend to cause pneumonia. One antibiotic does not necessarily kill both types of bacteria. We've had the same situation multiple times. I would imagine ear tubes will be highly beneficial for your daughter. I hope the ENT appointment goes well.
