Ok, in the past 5 weeks since Dawson's birth, he's been diagnosed with reflux, had thrush, and a yeast infection. Oh, and lets not forget the cold he caught from his big sister. Someone tell me my little one isn't alone in his tough times--i feel like a horrible mother even though I'm 100% devoted and in love with my little guy. I do everything right. I sling him, nurse him, sing to him, cuddle, kiss and hold him all the time. I change his diapers promptly, and I try to keep him as protected as possible from getting sick. I hope that this bumpy road we're on starts to get better. My kiddo must just feel like, life stinks, please put me back inside, mommy.

Think of it like labor...like how great things will be when this part passes and you're into good times All the hard work and love you're putting into parenting now will pay off!

I hope you both feel better soon

Hugs, mama, you're doing a great job, no matter what it may seem like!

My first two had thrush something awful. It took months to get rid of. The good news is that it isn't your fault. It is totally common. Some babies are just more sensitive to it. And it does go away eventually.

My second had reflux and was verrrry colicky. The good news is that they say it disappears at 4 months (the colic) and it does! The reflux took a while, but was gone by the time he was on solids (6-7mos).

The first six months are SO hard. Try to rest and remind yourself that you ARE a great mama!!!
